What you should know about Genesis the first book of the Bible:

Genesis was written by Moses. It is a book that has 50 chapters, and is a great book to read.

Many of the favorite stories of the Bible are in Genesis including:

2.God loves people
3.Sin Kills
4.Rescue Announced
6.Abraham & Sarah
7.Isaac & Rebekah
8.Jacob's big family

Notice that the days 1-3 of creation correspond with days 4-6.

Day 1: Light

Day 4: The Light is formed into the Sun, Moon, Stars.

Day 2: Sky and water

Day 5: Birds fill the sky and fish fill the water.

Day 3: Earth and Vegetation

Day 6: Animals and man created on dry land to eat the vegatation.

Greatest Artist

Some people have such great faith that they believe the world just happened by accident—no mastermind behind it. But if you look at even a small insect, it is a great and interesting work of art that can even function and crawl or fly. Or consider any tiny flower— the artistry and symmetry is amazing.

Then if you consider the complexity of people, not just the beauty, but down to the DNA, each person is an amazing work of art. No Master Creator? It just happened?!? It makes much more sense to me that there is a Mastermind, the greatest artist ever, God Himself who was in the beginning and created all things.

Genesis part 1

7 Amazing Days: Genesis 1

The Bible begins...

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. 3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.

—Genesis 1:1-5 NKJV

Day 1—Light

God spoke and light was created. Then He divided the light from darkiness and called it Day and Night.

—Gen. 1:1-5

Day 2—Sky and Water of the earth

God spoke and divided the water from the Heavens and water on the earth.

—Gen. 1: 6-8

Day 3—Earth and Vegetation

God spoke and the seas backed up to show dry land. Then He spoke and things began to grow on the earth: grass, plants, trees. God said that it was good.

—Gen. 1:9-13

Day 4—Sun, Moon, and Stars

God spoke and formed the light into the sun to rule the day, and the moon to rule the night and He made the stars. He said this Solar system would be for signs, for seasons, days and years. He saw that it was good.

—Gen. 1:14-19

Day 5—Fish and birds

God spoke and told the waters and sky to be filled with living creatures. God created all sizes of sea creatures from tiny to huge and birds of all kinds. He saw that it was good and blessed them and told them to multiply.

—Gen. 1:20-23

Day 6—Animals and man

God spoke to the earth to bring forth all kinds of animals, and He created them and they came creeping, walking, and galloping, over the earth. And God saw that it was good.

—Gen 1: 24-25

And God created man in His own image and likeness.

26Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

29 And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. 30 Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so. 31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

—Gen. 1:26-31

Day 7—God Rested

God ended His creating and rested and blessed the seventh day.

—Gen. 2:1-3
